“Speak UP for the Homeless!”
BPHI’s Speakers’ Bureau
BPHI Board member Carlos Reyes speaks to the Rotary Club of Weston
Looking for a good speaker for your organization? BPHI has a brand new video that tells the story of three homeless people ... people just like you and me.
"Over the past decade, BPHI has helped 14,000 homeless men, women, and families with children to access our programs and rebuild their lives. The Speakers’ Bureau is a way to ensure the community knows who Broward County’s homeless are, the services BPHI provides, and how the community can help," said BPHI Board chair Dan Taylor. “We hope that community groups will take advantage of our presentation, an important step in fighting homelessness in Broward County.”
Presentations are available for business and professional organizations, corporations, civic and community associations, schools and colleges, and faith-based groups. Among the groups who have taken advantage of “Speak Up for the Homeless!” are American Express, Republic Services, Inc., Comcast Cable, Levi Strauss, State Farm Insurance, Body of Christ Church, Temple Beth Emet, Westchester Elementary School, Plantation High School, and many Rotaries, Kiwanis Clubs and Chambers of Commerce.
Our presentation can be tailored to the needs of your group, and when possible feature our brand new five minute video, which tells the story of who the homeless are in our community and how BPHI helps them regain their dignity and independence. Interested? Contact Berne Teeple, Director of Development at 954-832-7037, bteeple@bphi.org.
“Speak Up for the Homeless” was developed by a Leadership Broward Class XIX community project team, comprised of Jarett Levan, Francois Leconte, Les Byron, Monique Blake, Carol Faber, Michael Grimme, Jill Hellman and Bernadette Norris-Weeks.
